Export packaging and shipping for cat products

Packaging & Shipping

Plan the carton alongside the product sample.

Petaful agrees the export pack for corrugated cat products before bulk production. Product fit, case quantity, carton marks, and the shipping term are reviewed with the buyer while the physical sample is approved.

The carton arrangement follows the finished shape and destination requirements, from flat pads to printed lounges. We review flat, nested, or assembled options during sampling.

Pack format

The finished shape sets the carton

We propose the arrangement during sampling, then approve the actual unit count and carton dimensions for that SKU.

Flat when the structure allows

Panels and modular pieces can travel flat when the approved construction is made for assembly at destination.

Nested for compatible shapes

Matching scratcher shapes can be nested to use carton space while protecting printed faces and edges.

A master carton built for the order

The approved unit count, labels, barcodes, and inserts are checked against the shipping carton before bulk packing.

On the packing floor

Four steps from finished piece to outbound load

Each step follows the product and carton specification agreed for the order.

  1. Fit the product

Confirm whether the finished shape ships assembled, flat, or nested. Add protection where surfaces or corners need it.

  2. Pack the approved count

Load the agreed case quantity and match each SKU to its marks, barcode, and retail inserts.

  3. Secure the outbound load

Seal the master cartons and prepare pallet wrapping when the shipping plan calls for a palletized load.

  4. Stage for dispatch

Hold checked cartons together by lot in the warehouse for the agreed collection or delivery route.

Release checks

The checks behind a shipment-ready carton

Incoming, in-process, and final checks use the approved sample as their reference. Buyer-appointed third-party inspection is welcome before dispatch.

IQC
Incoming board and glue are checked for grade, hardness, thickness, and moisture before feeding, so weak material never becomes a blank.
IPQC
While the job is running, the team checks lamination bonding, pressing flatness, fit against the signed sample, moisture, and paper dust before packing.
FQC
Finished goods and export cartons are checked before the shipment leaves. If you want a third party on that lot, name the lot and the date.

Shipment handoff

Set the receiving details before the carton is approved

Share the destination and channel with the sample. We can then align carton information, inspection timing, and the quoted trade term for the same order.

EXW
Factory collection
FOB
Port handoff
DDP
Named delivery address

EXW, FOB, or DDP availability and the named handoff point are confirmed in each quote.

Before you brief us

Packing, inspection, and trade terms

Confirm these points with your destination and sales channel before the final carton is approved.

Can the goods ship flat?

Yes, when the structure allows it. We can compare flat, nested, and assembled packing during sampling, then agree the carton for your destination before bulk production. See the packing process.

Which trade terms do you ship on?

EXW, FOB, or DDP. Tell us the destination and which term you want, and the quote uses that term. Name it on export packing.

What goes on the export carton?

Carton marks, barcodes, and retail inserts for the destination you name with the sample. They are agreed before the cartons are closed. Plan them on export packing.

Can a third party inspect before shipment?

Yes. Third-party inspection is welcome on site, alongside IQC, IPQC, and FQC. Name the inspector when the order is confirmed. The checkpoints are on Factory.

How do you pack for export or FBA?

We agree the selling unit, outer carton, marks, and any inserts for the destination while the product is sampled. Tell us if the shipment is for FBA so barcode and carton requirements can be included in the packing plan.

When does flat-pack actually save freight?

When the structure can go flat or nested. The saving depends on the SKU and the freight mode, so ask for a packing plan with the sample. A rigid house or a tall post will not always fold. See export packing.

When are barcodes and carton marks confirmed?

Confirm them with the sample, before bulk production. Send the mark file, barcode, and any retail insert for the destination so we can review them with the proposed carton.

How should an FBA shipment be planned?

Decide the selling unit, the barcode, and the carton count while the piece is still a sample. Petaful then packs to that plan instead of relabeling after FQC. See export packing.
